Thanksgiving is sadly lacking in carols of its own; one of the most enduring of that small crowd is Adam Sandler 's "Saturday Night Live" ode to turkey. The then-"SNL" Not Ready for Prime Time Player praised in song the Thanksgiving dinner's traditional centerpiece, plus worked in references to athletes Daryl Strawberry and Mike Tyson. Taylor Lautner, James Franco to host 'Saturday Night Live'

"Saturday Night Live" has landed Taylor Lautner, wolfy guy from "Twilight's New Moon" as a host. Ooh, maybe there will be a Taylor Swift cameo! Lautner and James Franco are the two newest names to be added to "SNL's" December hosting lineup, according to "Access Hollywood," after "Gossip Girl's" Blake Lively was revealed as the Dec. 5 host , paired with Rihanna as musical guest. Lautner, who became a "Rolling Stone" cover boy and was briefly on NBC with the short-lived "My Own Worst Enemy," will follow on Dec. 12, making his hosting debut alongside musical guest Bon Jovi. Lautner's face and body have been plastered everywhere in the media in conjunction with the release of "New Moon," the second installment of the "Twilight" saga that features his character Jacob coming into his own supernatural heritage. Best episode ever? Of the season, I mean. I had a feeling ahead of time that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could pull off a good show--I liked him on 3rd Rock from the Sun and if, as a kid, he could be funny next to French Stewart (and I guess, John Lithgow too) I figured he might be able to pull off at the very least an energetic performance on SNL. I liked that in his monologue he made fun of his indie darling status and then really worked his ass off during "Make 'Em Laugh," complete with singing, cartwheels, pratfalls, punches ...

"Saturday Night Live" star Andy Samberg has found a new love -- country singer Rebe McIntyre . Video below. Besides Joseph Gordon-Levitt's opening and the Sarah Palin "2012" spoof , the funniest part of "SNL" was a new digital short. We cannot explain this video. We cannot explain where an idea like "let's have Andy sing a song about being in love with Reba McIntyre, who is actually a black man wearing a red wig" comes from. We cannot really explain why it's funny. But it is. Very, very funny. We sincerely hope "Saturday Night Live" can do a follow-up video that features the real Reba McIntyre. 'SNL': Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes us laugh, Sarah Palin is President in '2012'

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's "Saturday Night Live" "Make 'Em Laugh" performance was one of the best openings we've seen in awhile, followed by an excellent faux-movie trailer for "2012." If you aren't familiar with the song "Make 'Em Laugh," you should go out and rent "Singin' in the Rain" as soon as possible. The number is comedian Donald O'Connor's most famous performance . Tonight Joseph Gordon-Levitt opened "Saturday Night Live" with a full performance of "Make 'Em Laugh," complete with backflips off the scenery just like O'Connor did in "Singin' in the Rain." It was delightful. Video as soon as it's available. Follow the Levitt's opening, "SNL" brought us a trailer for disaster movie "2012." Except the "disaster" part of the movie was Sarah Palin being elected president in 2012. The worst part? Glenn Beck was her VP! It's unfortunate the show followed up those gems with a painfully unfunny spoof on the old game show "Password." But we guess you can only hope for a couple bright spots ...

Katie Couric, Alec Baldwin respond to Sarah Palin's 'Going Rogue'

A representative for both Katie Couric and Alec Baldwin has responded to Sarah Palin's characterizations of them in her upcoming book "Going Rogue." In her memoir, Palin talks about her guest-starring role on "Saturday Night Live." She was in an episode that included Alec Baldwin, and says all her skit ideas were shot down. One idea was to do a skit based on how Alec Baldwin was supposed to leave the country after Bush was re-elected. Baldwin's rep Matt Hiltzik tells EW , "They nixed the joke because the underlying premise just wasn't true, because he had never said [that he was leaving the country]." Hiltzik also reps Katie Couric, whose September 2008 interview with Sarah Palin is largely regarded as the exposure that Palin was ill-informed and unprepared to hold the office of the Vice President. There is a maddening paradox to this year’s spectacularly underachieving season of Saturday Night Live. The show is full of funny, talented, dynamic young performers. I like just about everyone in the current incarnation of the Not Ready For Prime Time Players: Fred Armisen, Andy Samberg, Will Forte, Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig. Yet the show is seldom better than mediocre and often times much, much worse. How can so many funny people create something so egregiously unfunny? 'Saturday Night Live': January Jones is no Taylor Swift

After musician Taylor Swift brought "Saturday Night Live" to a surprising, hilarious season high the previous week, actress January Jones had less success bringing the humor to that level on Nov. 14. Jones still doesn't seem quite comfortable with comedy. Not exactly the best way to prove your acting chops to unsupportive ex-boyfriend Ashton Kutcher . Perhaps it wasn't Jones who was at fault, but the writers who didn't quite know what to do with her. Nevertheless, the "Mad Men" actress had a few highlights that mainly played off her very outwardly proper Betty Draper character. And of course, she looked gorgeous. The best by far was the "Ladies' Guide to Party Planning" skit, a period piece spoof that poked at the veneer of propriety that veiled other problems. Mad Men 's January Jones tried her hand at comedy this week when she hosted Saturday Night Live . But was she able to cut loose from the stiff Betty Draper persona we've all come to know? Let's check out some clips: Watch full episodes of SNL Monologue This was really the only Mad Men gag of the night. Jones monologue was almost immediately interrupted by a group of obsessed fans, which Jones referred to as "Mad Mennies."
